Volunteering at the House of Love Africa is what it sounds like, you will be helping the House of Love Africa and you will not have to pay for the privilege (unlike many other volunteer programmes). You will be required to pay for your return flight and transport to the House of Love Africa, and make a small contribution towards food however accommodation during your time at the House of Love Africa will be provided free as a thank you for your kind help..
You will not be covered by insurance from the House of Love Africa as it is not a large organization with insurance. You will be required to obtain your own holiday insurance as the House of Love Africa is only a small children’s home and cannot be held liable. Please do not be worried about this. The House of Love Children’s Village program is closely linked to the wider Mbarara Project. This project is where students visit Uganda each summer to carry out a construction/medical/teaching project. Each year the students who take part in these projects seek their own travel insurance for the project. The Mbarara Project has been running for more than 8 years.
